Purchasing from a merchant overseas using a credit card is still much more difficult than it ought to be, involving calls to the credit card company to make sure the transaction isn't denied, etc.
The card company that gets this right would get my business, at least for those transactions.

ReplyDeleteI recently had an experience with a bookseller in Croatia. He agreed to accept a bank check, but later contacted me to inform me that his bank wouldn't honor a Chase bank check.
Chase suggested that I try PayPal, the merchant will even receibve the proceeds in his currency.
